Breathe
How are you doing? I find myself having moments where I forget our current events are happening, just small fragments of time where I find relief. The pandemic isn't far from my consciousness however, as it has infiltrated my dreams even. The other night I was on a bus and I started panicking because there were too many passengers without masks on. Anyway, I wanted to share some things that have been helping me through this time. I have been streaming yoga from Raviana Yoga Streams. It was created by Ana Brett and Ravi Singh. The classes are wonderful and they are great at tailoring modifications to all levels. The breathing techniques are invigorating and you feel wonderful afterwards! I'm not affiliated with them, I just think their material is really great if you are looking for a new outlet.
I also have been balancing all of the movement with some treats. I have been wanting dessert every night of quarantine! I tried making a healthier cookie and these are really yummy! I hope you enjoy them too! The recipe follows:
Chickpea Cookies
Preheat oven to 350°
1.5 cups cooked chickpeas
1/2 cup almond butter (or nut butter of your choice)
1/3 cup maple syrup
2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup chocolate chips
optional pinch of salt
Combine all of the ingredients except the chocolate in a food processor, and mix well. Fold in the chocolate chips. Drop spoonfuls of rounded dough on a cookie sheet and bake for 20 minutes. Enjoy!
afternoon tea has become a habit lately!
